NHL 2K10

Developer: Visual Concepts
Publisher: 2K Sports
Whether you’re purchasing this with or without the Wii MotionPlus, this is an incredible package. Franchise mode alone is worth the price of admission, but the additional modes are just the icing on the cake. They’ve even added in a Mii Superstar mode, which is essentially a bunch of hockey mini-games, but not bad ones, at all. While it may take some time to get the nuances of the controls down, this is the most satisfying version of the game on offer. Forget HD, this is all about gameplay, and it delivers.
Boom Blox Bash Party

Publisher: Electronic Arts
Developer: EA Los Angeles
Boom Blox: Bash Party is not for everyone. For instance, if you don’t like fun. If you don’t have a Wii. If one Boom Blox game is enough for you. But if you like fun, and games that take advantage of the Wii’s unique strengths, you can’t go wrong with Boom Blox: Bash Party. Yes, the developers could have added more to this iteration but there are enough new modes and locales to make this a worthwhile upgrade.
NERF: N-Strike Elite

Publisher: Electronic Arts
Developer: EA Salt Lake
It’s Nerf, it’s a shooter on the Wii, and it’s aimed at the younger crowd. If you’ve got a young gamer on your list that enjoys any and all things Nerf, one thing to consider is the Nerf N Strike game for the Wii. Not only does it have players shooting it out on scrnee, the game also comes with its own Nerf gun. While the games action consists of mostly light-gun like action, it’s a solid and fun romp for the tweens in your life this holiday season. Perfect for those who are looking for a lighter, non-violent shooter.

If you know a fan of the original or even someone who has never picked up a Punch Out!! game before in your life, you owe it to them to get them this game. Quite simply, one of the best NES games available has now been re-made into one of the best Wii games available.
Wii Sports Resort

Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Nintendo
More accessible and way more interesting than its predecessor, Wii Sports Resort isn’t only the best compilation of mini-games to be offered on the Wii console in a while but also a great way to display what the Wii Motion Plus accessory can do. However, keep in mind that the real fun of Wii Sports Resort will come out when you play in groups. If you’re looking for a great multiplayer experience this holiday season, Nintendo’s most definitely got you covered.
The EA Sports Active Series

Publisher: EA Sports
Developer: EA Canada
EA hasn’t marketed their new program for those looking to lose weight or get in shape; rather it’s been marketed to help keep people active, hence the name, EA Sports Active. Despite this, some will still add it as part of their weight loss program, some will still use it to help them get in shape, other’s will see it as a good reason to stay fit. Whatever you’re reason, EA may have unlocked the way to get gamers’ off the couch and maybe, save us some money on gym fee’s during the current economy.
Band Hero

Publisher: Activision
Developer: Vicarious Visions
If you’re looking for the perfect gift for the pop music fan in your life, Band Hero forgoes the riff-heavy Guitar Hero formula and offers a more mainstream pop appeal, perfect for the more casual music gaming fans out there. It’s everything that made Guitar Hero great, without the limitations found in the original franchise.
The Beatles Rock Band

Publisher: MTV Games
Developer: Harmonix
If the Rock Band franchise managed to interest non-gaming adult audiences into buying music/rhythm games, The Beatles: Rock Band will not only do the same but it will also reach out to the very last folks who up until now did not care about playing with plastic instruments in front of a television. If games like Pong and Super Mario Bros. managed to pike the interest of mom and dad to play with their kids in the living room, there’s no doubt that The Beatles: Rock Band will make the rest of the family join in and have a great time.
Guitar Hero 5

Publisher: Activision
Developer: Neversoft
New features, new gameplay modes and with the possibility to expand your Guitar Hero library through downloadable content and disc ripping options with World Tour & Smash Hits, Guitar Hero 5 is certainly a must have if you are a fan of music rhythm games.

Also continuing the LEGO “build-and-play” gaming experience, players will be able to create their own LEGO Rock Band style as they customize their minifigure avatars, band and entourage, including roadies, managers and crew.
New Super Mario Bros. Wii

Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Nintendo
Even if you’re completely out of the gaming loop, chances are you’ve heard of a little Italian plumber named Mario before. New Super Mario Bros. on the Wii is an entirely new way to experience the classic side-scrolling franchise. For the first time, four players can get in on the action, with friends and families co-operatively working through levels, or competitively stomping each other for every gold coin they can find. Really, it’s a Mario title, which is always a solid choice for anyone on your list.
We Cheer 2

Developer: Namco Bandai
Publisher: Namco Bandai
If you have a daughter at home thats enjoys music games such as High School Musical, Hannah Montana or Boogie, We Cheer 2 should be a great game to consider as a purchase for her. Using the Wii Remotes as virtual pom-poms, she will follow on-screen directions to pull amazing choreographed routines. Aside of the 45 playable customizable characters, We Cheer 2 also features a 30 song soundtrack featuring tracks from artists such as Rihanna, Lady GaGa, Black Eyed Peas, Avril Lavigne and Miley Cyrus (obviously). The all-time classic "Get Ready For This" is also featured. The game also features two-player cooperative and four-player competitive modes and a cool but rather simple workout mode.
Rabbids Go Home

Publisher: Ubisoft
Developer: Ubisoft Vancouver
A surprisingly fun romp from start to finish, Rabbids Go Home is a unique experience that takes what is usually the tedious task of collecting, and makes it an entirely fun. If the person on your list owns a Wii and loves to laugh, you’ll definitely want to keep these rascally Rabbids in mind.
Shaun White Snowboarding: World

Publisher: Ubisoft
Developer: Ubisoft Montreal
For those looking for a fast and fun snowboarding game on the Wii, Shaun White Snowboarding: World Stage is the game to play. The wonderful course designs and various events are more than enough to keep you coming back for more. While the short length of the Story mode may let down some, if you can get some friends over to play with you, you will quickly lose track of the time.
MySims Agents

Publisher: EA
Developer: The Sims Studio
Most adult gamers will find MySims Agents to be a walk in the park and will probably get bored of the same routine rather quickly. As such, this game is not geared for adults but for younger gamers looking for a bit of adventure and something that doesn’t contain any violence. This is definitely the best game in the franchise and one that anyone under the age of 13 will enjoy. With the holiday season fast approaching, Parents should definitely consider this when thinking of games to buy for their kids.
MySims Racing

Publisher: EA Games
Developer: EA Games
MySims Racing might not be the top kart racer on the Wii, but it’s deep customization and solid racing definitely make it worthy of your young gamers time. If they’ve played out Mario Kart and are looking for something that offers similar solid mechanics with a little more flair for customization, you can’t go wrong here.
The Conduit

Publisher: Sega
Developer: High Voltage Software
While The Conduit doesn’t offer an entirely original storyline, it’s definitely interesting enough to be worth a look for anyone with even a passing interest in the sci-fi shooter genre on your list. As an added bonus, the online is one of the best on the Wii, so if that Wii owner on your list is an absolute online fanatic, this is exactly what they’ll be looking for under their tree.
House of the Dead Overkill

Publisher: Sega
Developer: Sega
This is the perfect evolution for a series that needed a new direction. The always fun gameplay hasn’t been altered at all, but the style is a very definite change for the better. Veterans of the series may find the more casual friendly focus of the main story mode to be a bit off-putting, but patience will pay off, as the more hardcore focused Director’s Cut is every bit as satisfying as the previous House of the Dead games and twice as ridiculous, which is by no means a bad thing. If your hardcore gamer has been complaining that there’s just not enough carnage on the Wii, HotD: Overkill will definitely change their minds.
MADWORLD

Publisher: Sega
Developer: Platinum Games
Madworld is an absolute wonder on the Wii. Packed with a fantastic visual style, simple but effective controls, and a healthy dose of humour, this is almost a complete package. If you’ve got a hardcore gamer on that Holiday wish-list of yours, this is "Must Have" with as much gore as it has style.
Muramasa: The Demon Blade

Publisher: Ignition Entertainment
Developer: Marvelous Interactive
The game is fantastic looking, sounds great, and has a fantastically cliché anime plot. That said, this is a game the really is for the hardcore set. It’s an absolutely beautiful game with an incredible storyline, and while those things can be appreciated by everyone, the gameplay itself is geared to a much more hardcore crowd. If the person on your list falls into that category, by all means, grab it. They’ll thank you for it.
WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2010

Publisher: THQ
Developer: Yukes Media Creations
Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 is the definitive wrestling title of this generation, so far. This is what WWE fans have wanted for near a decade now, and THQ and Yukes have delivered far beyond the usual yearly updates. In addition to great wrestling action, the ability to create your own stories is an awesome feature that anyone with even a passing interest in the WWE will appreciate.
Excitebots Trick Racing

Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Monster Games
If you are a fan of Excitetruck for the Nintendo Wii then this is a no brainer must buy for you and if you are unfamiliar with the Excite series, this is simply the best off road arcade action racing game out there, including those on the other two consoles. If you own a Wii, then you should own this.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare - Reflex

Publisher: Activision
Developer: Treyarch
It is a bit odd that Reflex was released two years after the fact. With so many people already playing Modern Warfare 2, it probably would have been beneficial to simply do a Wii edition of that rather than bringing back the first. Once you get past the controls, you will be pleasantly surprised as to how well the game has transitioned to the Wii. If you missed out the first time around or have a strong love of the original, you should definitely give it a try.
Dead Space Extraction

Publisher: Electronic Arts
Developer: Visceral Games
Dead Space is by far one of the best Survival Horror franchises on the market. It brought many new and familiar interesting features to the table on the big consoles but many people were wondering if the Wii could handle this game. Well Electronic Arts and Visceral Games have knocked this ball out of the park and we have possibly one of the best games on the Wii. Buy this game, do not stop and think about it, just buy it and prepare for some survival horror on rails action.
Metroid Prime Trilogy

Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Retro Studios Inc.
There are not many games for the Nintendo Wii with this much overall value packed into one tight package. All three games are amazing even if a couple of them are a few years old. This is a must buy for Wii owners who own any of the games and certainly a must buy for those gamers who have yet to dive into the Metroid Prime universe.
Tiger Wood PGA Tour 2010

Publisher: Electronic Arts
Developer: EA Sports
In order to really appreciate the game at its fullest, you need to purchase the Bundle with the Wii MotionPlus, unless of course you’ve already got one. You can still enjoy the game without the add-on, but you will not be getting the best experience and will envy those who are. Once you start playing it with it, you will wonder how you played any other golf game in the past. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 is a must own for fans of the sport and Wii owners.
