Looking for cool games? Here’s a few you can’t miss! These recommendations are based on what we’ve played during the year or currently playing. Whatever the game you choose, we think that your money will be well spent.
We hope it helps you!
The Sims 3

Developer: Maxis
Publisher: Electronic Arts
The inclusion of the town, traits and lifetime wants feels like you are playing God to a world of people living their lives instead of attempting to negotiate rapidly depleting needs and random wishes. Fans of the series will not only appreciate the larger changes that came with Sims 3, but the smaller ones too. Quite possibly the best Sims game yet, this is a fantastic addition to the franchise and one that no fan should be without.
Demigod

Developer: Gas Powered Games
Publisher: Stardock
Unlike almost all other RTS (Real Time Strategy) games you do not have to worry about controlling units other than your Demigod and there is no base building, you just have to control various thing from capturing flags, to controlling areas and buying items to help you defeat the other Demigods. From the overall presentation, the graphics and audio and the very fun and addictive gameplay, Demigod is one of the best PC games this year and is a shining example of how great game developers can continue to evolve old ideas into bigger and better games. This is a must buy for strategy fans looking for something new.
Warhammer: 40,000 Dawn of War II

Developer: Relic
Publisher: THQ
The innovation in game play comes from a melding of the award winning RTS gameplay we have seen from Relic Entertainment before as well as adding some well done RPG (Role Playing Game) elements. New gear, rising in level, very basic stat management and even an RPG-esque story fill out this great game. While this is far from your standard real time strategy title in many ways and the addition of the role playing elements force this game to be classified in a league of its own, many gamers will find this to be a worthy addition to their gaming library.
Red Faction: Guerrilla

Developer: Volition
Publisher: THQ
After being successfully released on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 during E3 09, PC gamers will be glad to see that the same greatness and fun has been brought to the PC version. By delivering a solid campaign mode, an incredibly vast open world, destructible environments and addictive multiplayer modes, THQ and Volition brings you a high quality game that you can’t miss. Red Faction: Guerrilla is a must have in your collection.
QuantZ

Developer: Gamerizon
Publisher: Gamerizon
Available only via digital distribution
Regardless of your gaming level, we all fool around with casual games at one point. We play them for a number of different reasons: they are easy to learn yet difficult to master, we don’t have to invest too much time into them and they are easy on the wallet. Montreal-based studio Gamerizon released a game called QuantZ for the PC and it hopes to appeal to both the hardcore and casual of gamers. This unique 3D-puzzle game is something that will take you only moments to learn, but will having you playing it longer than you initially thought.
Empire: Total War

Developer: The Creative Assembly
Publisher: SEGA
You will not just play this game once, you will finish it several times with different countries and then you will play the quick battle modes even more. There is so much value in this game it is almost incredible to think that RTS games have taken such a giant leap forward in graphics, gameplay, audio, presentation and value. This is the closest thing we have seen to a perfect game in ages on the PC and this is one game I will not take off my PC until another Total War is released… and then only maybe.
Section 8

Developer: TimeGate
Publisher: SouthPeak Studios
The deep customization system, the numerous weapons, vehicles, types of secondary equipment, deployables and passive mods coupled with varied and randomly activated dynamic combat missions, massive maps and a number of different co-op and swarm modes makes Section 8 a game with some of the highest replay value around. Combine that with an AI balancing system that makes sure games are fun and never become too one-sided means that the game is also accessible to anyone regardless of shooter experience.
The Last Remnant

Developer: Square Enix
Publisher: Square Enix
For those PC gamers who are willing to try out a new style of Japanese Role Playing Game this is a great game to play with its strong mechanics and story. But there will be some gamers who will think the game is too simple because it is a port of a console game and not actually sit down and see how deep and complex the game actually is. If you are unsure about the game just download the demo and give it a solid try and for the rest of the PC Role Playing Gamers out there just go out and buy this great title.
Wolfenstein

Developer: id Software/Raven
Publisher: Activision
Wolfenstein offers up a bit of open ended gameplay and some optional missions plus a really large number of weapon/power upgrades all of which you cannot afford in a single play-through so the single player campaign definitely gives you reason to come back and run through again. The multiplayer is also quite fun and while it certainly isn’t as deep as multiplayer is many other modern FPSs it does offer class based play and the ability to buy upgrades for your weapons with cash earned in matches.
And Yet It Moves

Developer: 03 Entertainment
Publisher: 03 Entertainment
And Yet It Moves retails on Steam and other downloading services (Greenhouse for Mac users) for 15 dollars. The price tag may deter a few but competition modes, achievements and a stunning audio-visual experience make the title well worth the price. If nothing else, you’ll be getting a unique and dizzying adventure through this not-so common puzzle platformer. And Yet It Moves is one of those unique titles that only come around once in a while.
Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X

Developer: Ubisoft Romania
Publisher: Ubisoft
For those who want a true Flight Simulation experience look elsewhere because this is a pure action game with sometimes hundreds of missiles and bombs, forgiving flight controls and certainly more bang than simulation. This is a must buy for action fans and those who love to keep unlocking new toys to play with but do not expect a deep simulation experience just a fun one.
Dragon Age Origins

Publisher: Electronic Arts
Developer: Bioware
Hardcore RPG fans, your best choice for the holiday season is here. Bioware is a company that know how to make RPG’s, and make them right. Challenging, rewarding, with an in-depth stats, weapons and items system, there’s enough here to keep you busy for weeks on end. With DLC support on the way, this could in fact be the gift that keeps on giving.
Risen

Developer: Piranha Bytes
Publisher: Deep Silver
This is a game that all PC RPG players should buy and enjoy. It has some rich details, fun adventures and great gameplay mechanics which kept me enthralled for hours on end. With its beautiful graphics and great environmental sound it is easy to find yourself traveling around the island just picking herbs and mushrooms while stumbling upon the odd monster to fight.
Left 4 Dead 2

Developer: Valve
Publisher: Valve
The overall theme you’ll notice here is that L4D2 is all about more. More modes, more items, more of everything that made the first game so successful. And it’s here that we hit the sore spot. The original L4D was a great game, there’s no denying that, but it severely lacked in modes. If you’re a fan of the original, there’s absolutely no reason not to get L4D2. It’s got more of everything that made the first game such a blast to play, and actually manages to make the experience remarkably better.
Trine

Developer: Frozenbyte
Publisher: Southpeak Games
We have come a long way with side scrollers since the days of Super Mario Brothers and Contra. Trine is a visual treat; the puzzles are a challenge and the characters all have fun elements to their play.
