If you’re planning to buy the Guitar Hero Aerosmith Special Edition Bundle because your Rock Band guitar won’t work, think again. An auto-update feature, available on the Xbox 360 via Xbox Live, will let you play the latest Guitar Hero game with your Fender Stratocaster, ending the feud of guitar compatibillity between RedOctance and Harmonix. It’s unknown if the same patch applies to PS3 owners via the PS Network (if you know, please let us know).
But, there’s two things you have to know. First: your console has to be on Xbox Live (either Gold or Silver members) to get the auto-update so if your playing offline, then you’re out of luck. Second: the Star Power button (Select) doesn’t seem to respond at all, which may affect your competitive gaming sessions if you’re looking to blast your friends with huge multipliers...
Hey, at least the guitar works...partially.
