Fallout 3 Gets The Australian Banhammer
Damn.....
The infamous Australian Office of Film and Literature Classification has striked again. And this time, it’s Bethesda’s turn.
We’ve learned today from our friends at GamesIndustry.biz that Bethesda’s forthcoming RPG Fallout 3 has been refused classification in Australia and given the RC rating, which effectively means the game is banned from sale.
Yesterday, D3 Publisher’s Dark Sector got clearance after several cuts. Let’s hope Fallout 3 will get the same treatment.
We tried to reach Bethesda to know a bit more but they won’t comment at this time.

The Australian Banhammer Does It Again!

I seriously have zero clue what is up with the Aussie government. They need to take a look at their laws and change direction.

Really? Fallout? Somebody ask them what the game is about.. I don't think they really played the game... Maybe they have something against Black/dark humor?

Well the Aussies have no rating for games above 15 yrs of age, so true M games like Fallout get tagged hard and have to appeal to get in.
But if its like FO1 and FO2 and they base what possibly could be in FO3 then it will never get in. Incest, Child Murder (always a winner with parental groups) and of course the whole "sex" thing. But FO3 does have a graphical advantage we get to blow heads and arms and legs off... /sniff I love technology and decapitations.

huh, no rating over 15... well... that's the problem... I mean this game is mature. So I guess the people who enforce the regs are doing the right thing. But ya! They HAVE to look at their laws again...

They probably had problems with activities that take part in the game, ie: drug use. I could see them toning the game down like GTA IV was but, why bother? Until people there complain about missing out on games nothing will happen.
