Game Informer has learned from sources close to Eidos that Batman: Arkham Asylum , scheduled to ship on June 23, might be delayed until the fourth quarter of 2009.
Although the delay could be caused by development issues, Eidos or Warner Bros. Interactive did not comment on the allegations of the possible delay. However, the fact that pre-orders for the Playstation 3 version increased dramatically since the announcement of a playable Joker make us believe that it would be a good enough reason for them to delay the game in order to capitalize on the situation even more. With possible Holiday releases like Assassin’s Creed 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction game could hurt the game but right now, all we hope is that the game ships in June. We might have answers to our questions during E3.
*** UPDATE *** Eidos Interactive and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment can today confirm that Batman: Arkham Asylum will be released at the end of summer 2009. This additional time will allow us to ensure Batman: Arkham Asylum is of the highest quality for gamers.
