Okay, so maybe not right away, but according to Volition’s senior associate producer Jeff Carroll, it may be a possibility. During an event last night for the launch of Red Faction Guerilla, Carroll told Joystiq that it is possible that THQ may produce Wii titles based on the popular Volition franchises. However, he did also state that Volition would likely not be involved with the project were it to start anytime soon.
"Though [THQ] may do Wii versions of [our games] in the future, Volition won’t be doing them -- at least for the next year or so," Carroll told Joystiq staff. The Volition rep went on to tell the site that they had talked about whether the studio would become partial developers for the Wii, but as THQ already has quite a few teams dedicated solely to Wii games, it wasn’t a necessity. For now, the focus tends to be on the new advancements in console tech. With E3 coming up, of course, anything can happen, but for now, put this in the wish column until more is announced.
