No re-release for Michael Jackson’s "Moonwalker" game

Following Michael Jackson’s death yesterday, lots of gamers flooded Twitter asking SEGA if they would ever reconsider re-releasing the " Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker " videogame. The developer/publisher made a statement about the idea through its official Twitter feed last night: "Lots of requests for a Moonwalker re-release, which is understandable, I’d imagine such a release wouldn’t be possible for a long time though," SEGA said. Who has say over the MJ image rights and estate for instance? Those things won’t be sorted particularly fast you’d’ve thought." SEGA agreed: "You have to weigh it up, some fans would like it, others would see a cash-in on the unfortunate loss’ - Exactly" Developed and published by SEGA, Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker was co-created by Michael Jackson and released on the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, Master System, Game Gear and Arcade in the early nineties alongside the straight-to-video movie of the same name.
