Analyst Blames EA For Dead Space Extraction Poor Sales

According to the latest NPD numbers, Dead Space Extraction ( review here ) has only sold 9,000 copies (approximate) in the US between September 29 and October 3. Now, EA once said that their strategy and eventual support of Mature games on the WIi might change if Extraction would show poor sales. However, EEDAR analyst Jesse Divnich thinks that this time, it’s EA’s fault. "Electronic Arts didn’t market Dead Space Extraction as much as it does with other titles," said EEDAR analyst Jesse Divnich. The success or failure of a Wii title usually correlates directly to marketing spend," he added. "If Electronic Arts spent little on marketing, I am sure the sell through was no surprise to them. So I do not believe sell through was a disappointment to EA."
