For those of you who weren’t able to snatch an unlock code for MAG from your respective retailers, those fancy pieces of armor that all of those preorders enabled are now available free of charge.
The armor can be found in the Playstation store under the download section for MAG.
You’ll notice that the ’download’ completes instantly, and that’s because it’s simply an unlock code that allows you to access the armor that has been in the game the whole time. Oh Zipper Interactive, you sneaky devils.
The armor is named Spyder, Bulldog, or Hazard armor for the Raven, Valor, and S.V.E.R. factions, respectively. It falls between medium and heavy armor in terms of how much it costs to fit in your inventory. However, it only incurs as much of a movement penalty as medium armor, even though it looks a lot cooler.
Here is a picture of one of those pieces of armor. Yes, this man is actually standing on thin air.
This armor update also comes with a new patch, which Zipper Interactive says will be available on March 12 at 1 a.m. Pacific, 9 a.m. GMT, and 4 a.m. eastern. The full patch notes can be found here .
By the way, MAG is pretty darn good. You may remember that I wrote the review for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. This is also where I tell you that as of this writing, MAG is my shooter of choice.
