Publisher: Ubisoft   Developer: Ubisoft Montréal

Sam is back...and this time, it’s personal! Despite threats from his superiors at Third Echelon, Sam is investigating the accident death of his daughter. However when he learns that it was a real murder, Sam embarks on a journey of revenge

It felt good to finally see Sam Fisher in action after a two year hiatus from E3. Definitely, a title to check on your Xbox 360 (and PC) when it comes out this Fall.

- Halo 3 ODST
- Alan Wake

Best PS3 game

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

First announced in December of last year, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves exploded into the gaming scene with its breathtaking debut trailer. Whether you experienced the first game in the series, or not, the sequel to the most popular launch title for the Playstation 3 looks like it will give fans everything they desire from the series.

And last week, we got a glimpse during the Sony Press Briefing...simply amazing!

- Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time
- Heavy Rain

Best Wii Game

New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Publisher: Nintendo   Developer: Nintendo

A four player multiplayer Super Mario game? That’s right! In this new game, players can navigate the side-scrolling worlds alone as before or invite up to three others to join them at the same time on the same level at any point in the game for competitive and cooperative multiplayer fun. Very cool game and we predict a ton of copies sold when it ships!

Runner-ups

- Muramasa: Demon Blade
- Silent Hill Shattered Memories
- Sin and Punishment 2

Best PC

Dragon Age Origins
Publisher: Electronic Arts   Developer: Bioware

Dragon Age: Origins is BioWare’s return to its roots – a dark heroic fantasy game that combines original storytelling techniques with classic roleplaying. The game wasn’t on the E3 show floor but from what we’ve seen, we can safely say that Bioware will once again deliver a one-of-a-kind game experience.

Runner-ups

- Star Wars: The Old Republic
- DC Universe Online
- Parabellum

Best DS

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
Publisher:  Nintendo  Developer: Nintendo

Link returns for a daring new adventure featuring a new story, more puzzles and even a new mode of transportation (a train), which offers up new possibilities for problem-solving. I got to play it for a while and just like Phantom Hourglass, it will keep me awake at night for hours. Can’t wait to get my hands on it!

Runner-ups

- Scribblenauts
- Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story
- Overlord: Minions

Best PSP

Gran Turismo PSP
Publisher:  Sony Computer Entertainment  Developer: Polyphony Digital

Who cares if the title was canceled or not? With Gran Turismo PSP, Kazunori Yamauchi promises to deliver the most realistic portable driving simulator in the market...and he’s right! Running at 60 frames per second, the game is gorgeous. Be prepared to be blown away when it ships on October 1st.

Runner-ups

- God of War 3
- Assassin’s Creed 2
- Splinter Cell: Conviction

Best Shooting

Modern Warfare 2
Publisher: Activision   Developer: Infinity Ward

Runner-ups

- Bioshock 2
- Halo 3: ODST
- Aliens vs. Predator

Best RPG

Mass Effect 2
Publisher:  Electronic Arts  Developer: Bioware

Yet another game from Bioware. The first game sold millions of copies, gathered a huge number of awards and made a chick named Cooper Lawrence look like a fool. There’s no doubt that the sequel will be even more interesting and compelling. Better get your Mass Effect 1 save game ready when it ships early in 2010.

Runner-ups

- Alpha Protocol
- Star Wars: The Old Republic
- Dragon Age Origins

Best RTS

R.U.S.E
Publisher: Ubisoft  Developer: Eugen Systems

In R.U.S.E., players use their brain as the ultimate weapon, fighting a war of perception, where the ability to deceive and mislead the enemy determines success. A first in a strategy game, R.U.S.E. reinvigorates the genre by using deception to give new-found depth to the game play. Personally, I wasn’t sold on that game at first but after seen it in action last week, it became clear in my mind that Ubisoft had something going on with this game.

Runner-ups

- Supreme Commander 2
- Order of War

Best Fighting

King of Fighters XII
Publisher: Ignition Entertainment   Developer: SNK-Playmore

To celebrate the 15th anniversary of its highly popular fighting franchise, SNK-Playmore went for the complete graphical overhaul. The old 2D graphics have been dropped in favor of all-new, high-resolution fighters fluidly animating across painstakingly detailed, 100% hand-drawn backgrounds. Not only it looks good but it also plays incredibly smoothly. The game is scheduled for a July release.

Runner-ups

- Tekken 6
- Soul Calibur Broken Destiny
- Marvel vs Capcom 2

Best Music Game

The Beatles: Rock Band
Publisher: MTV Games/Electronic Arts/Apple Corps.   Developer: Harmonix

No, it’s not an Xbox 360 exclusive, which means that if you have a Wii or Playstation 3, you will be able to enjoy the game when it ships on September 9. Three-part vocal harmonies to game play, 45 master tracks and the promise of a full downloadable album (Abby Road), The Beatles: Rock Band will turn any doubter into a believer...just like me. Beware, your parents might ask you this game for Christmas.

Runner-ups

- LEGO Rock Band
- DJ Hero
- Guitar Hero 5

Best Downloadable Game

Shadow Complex
Publisher:  Microsoft Game Studios  Developer: Epic Games/Chair Entertainment

After releasing one of the most clever and well designed XBLA games of 2007 (Undertow), Chair Entertainment joins forces with Epic Games to deliver “Shadow Complex”, a game that combines an old school side-scroller design with modern, cutting-edge gameplay. The game has been confirmed for a summer release during Microsoft’s "Summer of Arcade" promotion. Put it in your watch list!

Madden NFL 10
Publisher:  Electronic Arts  Developer: EA Tiburon

Utilizing an all-new animation technology, Madden NFL 10 promises a better control over the outcome of a play than ever before. Most importantly, an Online Franchise mode finally makes its entrance this year and we could not be anymore happy. Can August arrive sooner?

Runner-ups

- NHL 10
- NCAA Football 10
- Fight Night Round 4

Best Game Announcement

Metroid: The Other M
Publisher: Nintendo  Developer: Nintendo/Team NINJA

No one saw this coming at the Nintendo Press Conference and the excitement has never stopped growing since then. No word on release date but we hope it’s soon...

Runner-ups

- Super Mario Galaxy 2
- The Last Guardian
- Crackdown 2

“WOW” Moment

Project Natal – Milo

Some people say its fake, others think its scary. Either way, this jaw-dropping project from Lionhead’s Peter Molyneux raised the skepticism bar up a notch. Not that we don’t believe Mr. Molyneux and his claims. Nonetheless, it made us ask ourselves what if it was true. There’s no doubt that if this project works, we could assist at the next evolution of role playing games...and even more.

Runner-ups

- Star Wars: The Old Republic Trailer during EA Press Briefing
- Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney hit the stage during Microsoft’s Press Briefing
- Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Gameplay Demo during Sony’s Press Briefing

Hidden Jewel

Darksiders: Wrath of War
Publisher
THQ  Developer: Vigil Games

Story short: You play as one of the four legendary Horsemen of the Apocalypse and you’re tasked to find out where the other three horsemen went and who misled them into starting the premature destruction of the world. I had the chance to play this game and had a blast. It’s a third person action adventure game that takes cues from God of War, Prince of Persia and Devil May Cry mixed with an artistic look that reminds me of World of Warcraft. According to THQ officials, the game is scheduled for a January 1st 2010 release. Wicked!

Runner-ups

- Split/Second
- Aliens vs. Predator
- King of Fighters XII

Best of Show

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment  Developer: Naughty Dog

It was a tough call once again but overall, Uncharted 2 had the most things to show at E3. Not only Naughty Dog promises a longer and even more captivating single player campaign but also added a three player online co-op storyline and a ten player multiplayer mode in the process, which is currently under beta as we speak until June 30. Now, all I need is go back to the game so I can be ready for it when it ships sometime this Fall.

Runner-ups

- God of War 3
- Mass Effect 2
- Splinter Cell: Conviction

Of course, there are more games that could have made the list but choices has to be made. Nonetheless, check the site in the following days and weeks as we will present you previews of these and other great games we saw at E3.
