Jeri Ryan Back For Mortal Kombat Web Series

Gamers were thrilled at the Mortal Kombat: Rebirth short film that came out last year. It was an unofficial release by fans of the series and featured franchise fighters like Scorpion, Sonya Blade, and Jax in a live action short that was brutal like the games and not cheesy like the official films.

After immense positive feedback it didn’t take long for Warner Bros. to greenlight a “digital” series to launch alongside the latest game’s release in April.

Actress Jeri Ryan confirmed on her Twitter account that she is officially back as Sonya Blade for the series that is filming in Vancouver this month. This is unsurprising considering Rebirth’s director Kevin Tancharoen is also on board to direct the new content.
