Speaking at the Wedbush Securities 8th Annual Management Access Conference in New York, Electronic Arts’ Chief Financial Officer Eric Brown said that BioWare’s upcoming MMO game Star Wars: The Old Republic will be the most expensive game ever created at Electronic Arts.
Describing the project as "largest ever development project in the history of the company", Brown said that compared to a packaged console game (around $30 million to make at EA), the new MMO based on the Star Wars franchise could easily beat the $100 million+ mark established by Blizzard when World of Warcraft was released in 2004.
Star Wars: The Old Republic is currently schduled for a Spring 2011 release.
