Find The Anger Inside You, Young Jedi...

What happens when you put two massive franchises in a blender? Take one of the world’s hottest games; a physics puzzler featuring ticked off colorful birds and green pigs. Now add in one of the world’s most beloved franchises, Star Wars. The result is the best Angry Birds title of the entire franchise.

Angry Birds Star Wars is like any other Angry Birds title. It begins with a comic cutscene, with multiple panels kicking off the story, here loosely following the tale of Star Wars Episode 4 (of which I’ll talk about soon). The music featured here are the classical tunes from John Williams, which any Star Wars fan can really appreciate. Rovio has given the title a great mix of both Star Wars and Angry Birds sound effects, from the birds screaming to the ‘pew pew pew’ of blasters. The birds and pigs have also been re-imagined into Star Wars characters like Luke, Han and Darth Vader. With that, the birds also have Star Wars-themed powers, Red Bird poses as Luke, and has a lightsaber attack, but obtains it after meeting (or unlocking) the black bird who plays Obi-Wan, who has a force push power (just as it is in the film). The yellow bird is Han Solo and he can fire his blaster. The gameplay Rovio has in Angry Birds Star Wars is a blend of the original Angry Birds with the zero gravity levels that took up Angry Birds: Space. The game has a good balance of going back and forth from the original physics-based style to the zero gravity-based levels.
"This is the definitive Angry Birds experience!"
Before the whole Disney-Lucasfilm buyout, the Star Wars saga spanned across six films (not to mention all the animated properties and stacks of Expanded Universe novels), but if you download the title right now, you will only be getting Episode 4, as I noted earlier, with around 80 levels based upon Tatooine and the Death Star. There are also bonus levels, along with an update coming soon Hoth levels (from Episode 5), so it looks like players will be going through all three original Star Wars movies. To get more levels, there is a Dagobah-themed pack with a challenging 30 - 40 levels, based on when Luke went to train with Yoda in Episode 5. How does one get these levels? There are two ways, either three-star every level in the game, or pay two dollars. Three starring every level will be a challenge for most players since the later levels get brutally challenging. Since some people will be paying at most five dollars for the game (that’s for the Hd or tablet versions), why pay more when players have already paid the admission price for to play the game? These levels shouldn’t cost anything.

Final Focus
This is the definitive Angry Birds experience! Angry Birds is wonderfully re-imagined with the Star Wars universe. It isn’t a slapped together tie-in game to the Star Wars franchise, it is a love letter to George Lucas’ classic space opera. Fans of either franchise will find lots to love and enjoy with this collaboration. As for non-fans of either franchise looking for a good physics-based puzzle game, Angry Birds Star Wars features the best of both Angry Birds play styles while giving love to a highly recognizable franchise in one app! You can download Angry Birds right now for your iOS device, Android, PC, Mac and other devices.
